Not every women is dying to have children and be a mommy! According to a new study by the New York-based Center for Work-Life Policy, 43 percent of college-educated women between the ages of 33 and 46 do not have children. This is particularly prevalent in New York City where a significant number of career women in their 30’s and 40’s are deciding not to have children. They are “childless by choice.” Today’s career women don’t feel the necessity to have a career and go home to a family—a second career.
The public perception of children as essential for a successful marriage has also changed. Studies have shown that the happiest marriages are those without children.
