One of the most stressful times of your life is when you are going through a divorce.  Exercise is key to helping you cope with stress.  Stress can make you sick, so you must do everything you can to minimize it. Even an hourly walk every day can be helpful.

America is an “overstressed nation” according to a 2010 survey “Stress in America” so we all have stress before we even have to deal with the additional stress of a divorce.  People are worried about money, jobs and the economy, their health, their children’s health, their parents, and the issues of terrorism.

Also women are more likely than men to have stress. Women seem to be bearing the brunt of the bad economy.  Many men have lost their jobs and many women are the breadwinners.  In addition, many women are single parents responsible for their families.

Unfortunately, there have been increases in smoking, alcohol use and obesity, and increases in depression and anxiety in women.
