Statistics have always shown that being married is better for your health and well-being—married people lived longer, healthier lives. They never took into account that being in a stressful marriage can actually be detrimental to your health. A recent study showed that a stressful marriage can be as bad for the heart as a smoking habit. A stressful marriage can cause heart disease, diabetes, depression, weaken immune system and stress.
Another study released last year showed that single people who have never married have better health than those who married and then divorced. The conclusion is that being married isn’t always better for your health.
