It’s not possible to completely protect your privacy, but here are a few things that will help:

1.  Be stingy with personal information, especially your social security number.  I always leave that space blank when filling out a form that asks for it.

2.  Don’t readily give out your address and phone number to anyone either.

3.  Be vigilant in cyberspace.  You must have a firewall on your home computer.

4.  Never give any personal information in response to an email.

5.  Be anonymous when you get a grocery store’s discount card.  You don’t want to leave a record of your eating habits.

It is always very important that you are prudent in protecting your private information.
