When girls are growing up, all they want to do is get married.  But women in their 60’s, 70’s and 80’s who have been married and are either now single because of the death of their spouse or divorce, do not want to be married again.

Some of the reasons are that women build a new single life where they are not responsible for another person’s needs.  They can come and go as they please, eat when and what they like, and they are not vulnerable to someone else’s moods.  What most women would like is to have a relationship with a man, who is their companion, but each of you has your own home and there is no legal commitment.

Single men in this age group, on the other hand, do want to get married again.  They want someone to take care of them.
