Divorcing parents in a volatile divorce should immediately enroll their child or children in the Children’s Passport Issuance Alert Program so that you will be notified if your ex or ex-to-be attempts to apply for a passport for them, which he or she will need in order to leave the country.

A recent study revealed that women in the United States are giving birth later, fewer are marrying, and the percentage of teenage mothers has dropped over the last 20 years. In 1990, 9 percent of births were to women over 34 and 13 percent to teens.  By 2008, it was 14 and 10 percent, respectively.
